AI for EHS Practitioners: What’s Working and Where to Start
PRESENTED BY: Arianna Howard, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Syncra Group
WHEN: Tuesday, May 19 at 12 PM
- VIRTUAL ONLY
- CEUs will be available
Description:
This facilitation is focused on building individual confidence. It’s for the person who’s been hearing about AI but hasn’t tried it yet (or tried it once and wasn’t sure what to do with the results). This session will walk through real EHS use cases, actually work through some prompts together, and talk about how to evaluate whether AI output is trustworthy enough for safety-critical work.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify 3-5 AI use cases that EHS professionals are applying right now, from JSA drafting to incident data summarization, and understand what makes them effective in a safety context.
- Write and evaluate AI prompts for common EHS tasks, with a clear sense of where professional judgment is still required before trusting the output.
- Leave with one use case you can try at your desk this week using tools you already have access to.
Speaker Bio:
Arianna Howard is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Syncra Group, an EHS technology consulting and advisory firm. With a background in operational and consulting EHS roles, she shifted into technology after seeing the same pattern: the real challenge was never compliance, but the tools and systems teams relied on to manage it. At Syncra Group, she leads technology selection, implementation, and advisory work for EHS teams across IT systems, software, data, and AI, with a focus on process optimization and change management before digitization. Her work spans startups to Fortune 500 enterprises across high-risk industrial sectors, and she brings over 15 years of senior military leadership experience.
Arianna leads the ASSP AI Standards-Based User Group, was a founding member of the ASSP AI Task Force, and co-founded Safety Tech News. Her sessions are built for practitioners, grounded in real workflows and real organizational challenges, with the goal of leaving participants with practical skills they can apply immediately.
